My Biggest Regret as a Dog Owner

train, sad, lonely-4165566.jpg

Sadly, I lost my last dog about seven and a half months ago. She was ten years old, and she suddenly became very ill. Unfortunately, she passed away shortly after she was diagnosed with acute liver disease.

From that moment, I knew I didn’t want to live in a house without a dog, so I got my sweet little Polish Lowland Sheepdog puppy. He has brought so much joy, and I’m grateful to have him, the floppy little puppy he is.

My Biggest Regret

with my last dog is that I didn’t record her many milestones. Fast forward ten years, and I have a puppy and find myself trying to recall similar milestones that my last dog had. I don’t mean in a comparative way, but more to remember her at this age.

How I’m Mitigating this Regret with my New Puppy

I created a dog journal to avoid the same regrets as my current puppy. This journal, which I named “I Heart my Dog Journal,” contains thirty-seven pages, with sections designed to help you track the milestones throughout your dog’s life. The sections include Medical Records, Food & Treats, Training Record, a Pet Sitter Template, and much more.

The package contains two files: one is a regular printable PDF, and the other is a fillable PDF.

You can get your own copy here.

I have you covered whether you prefer to journal through physical writing or on your computer. The files are perfect for printing on A4 paper. You can print it at home for a binder or scrapbook, or you can take it to a print shop, and they can print and bind it for you. I am working on converting it to a digital Journal with linkable pages, so stay tuned.

Conclusion

The only downside of dogs, in my opinion, is they have such short life spans. As a result, we, as owners, will likely outlive our dogs. My biggest regret with my last dog is that I didn’t record all of her life’s noteworthy milestones. I remember many of them, but there are so many that I feel like I’m forgetting. Especially as I enjoy my puppy’s special moments. I don’t want to have the same regrets with this dog, which is why I’ve created this “I heart my Dog Journal.” If you want a beautiful Keepsake of your dog, this may be the solution for you. In addition, if you have a dog lover, dog owner, or soon-to-be dog owner in your life, this little journal may be an excellent gift idea.
