Heart Disease: aortic stenosis is the most common form of heart disease in dogs. Aortic stenosis is something the dog is born with (congenital). AS is an abnormal narrowing of the connection between the left ventricle and the aorta. Some dogs don’t have any or only minor signs, while others may have low energy, and some can die suddenly. A chest x-ray and electrocardiogram by your vet can confirm the diagnosis.
