Legg-Perthes Disease

This disease is generally found in small dog breeds. Legg-Perthes disease usually appears in younger pups around 6 to 9 months. This disease is hallmarked by a deformity of the hip joint ball and is often mistaken for hip dysplasia. The wearing of the joint can lead to arthritis, but it can be surgically repaired, followed by physical therapy.
