Osteochondrosis Dissecans (OCD)

OCD is an orthopedic condition that triggers a painful joint stiffening so the dog cannot bend his elbow. Typically seen in the Elbow (but can occur in the shoulder), OCD results from improper cartilage growth in the joints. Overfeeding high-protein or “growth formula” puppy foods, OCD can be detected in dogs as young as four to nine months old.
